A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Amy Thorne at Emma and Nick’s Belvoir Castle wedding. Amy owns and runs Amaranthyne Weddings and Events, a business she is simply made for! Amy was only brought onboard at Emma and Nick’s wedding at the last minute, just to bring all the details together and co-ordinate the day, but I can honestly say that I have NEVER been at a more organised and well-planned wedding. Because I always think that a personal recommendation is worth its weight in gold, I got together for a chat with Amy to find out more about what makes her, and her business, tick. Here’s her story, in her own words…
My wedding planning and design business launched in April 2012. Since then I’ve been providing prestigious bespoke wedding planning, design and coordination uniquely tailored to my couples’ visions and dreams. I always aim to deliver a high quality service with creativity, inspirational ideas and a friendly ear willing to listen. If I’m honest I also like to think that I bring a sense of calm to the planning process to ensure that you enjoy the fun side of your wedding! They can be stressful days, ensuring that everything goes to plan, and so it’s great to be able to relax knowing that someone else has taken care of every little detail.
Whether you need a planning kick start or boost, wedding day management, help with a theme, sourcing items or the full total support package myself and my team are here to make your dreams / plans happen as you imagine. I love everything about weddings and I treat each one with the same care and attention to detail. Just like Jon, I like to think of my brides as really good friends as well as clients.
In just over 2 years I’ve reached the Regional Finals in the 2014 Wedding Industry Awards, featured on the Wedding Industry Experts 2014 Honour Roll as well as recently achieving the Most Popular New Wedding Planner in England in the 2014 Wedding Industry Expert Awards, as well as the 4th Most Popular Wedding Blog in England and 5th Most Popular Worldwide! All of this as well as some lovely feedback from my Brides, including:-
Paul and I would like to say a massive thank you for all you did to help us plan and facilitate our wedding. You helped keep all our plans in order and were completely professional at all times.
My guests were asking who you were as they thought you were my very helpful friend that they’d not met. They were surprised when I said ‘Amy is my wedding planner’. I think they expected someone bossy and issuing orders. Well that’s just not your style.
It has been a pleasure to have you as my confidante to help me sort out my secrets and just to hash things over with. You have some amazing ideas, just a shame we couldn’t use all of them but I guess we had to leave some for your other brides.
You truly are a lovely lady and we wish you and your business all the success for the future. We will definitely be voting for you in this year’s wedding planner of the year.
Some people may have the impression that wedding planners are only for couples planning a huge or expensive wedding, but that’s a bit of a misconception! I’ve worked with a wide range of wedding budgets, from £5000 to £85000 and have planned weddings from 20 to 400 guests at a whole host of different style venues, from Village Halls, Barn Conversions, Theatres, Country Mansions, Tipis, Marquees, Castles and Stately Homes.
I really love what I do, and I know that I’m lucky to work in an industry where I can push myself on a daily basis. Having a one year old daughter definitely qualifies me for multi-tasking – which is definitely a must for a busy wedding!
I already have bookings up to 2017, so get in touch soon so as not to be disappointed. I am happy to help with any aspect of your wedding planning, however big or small it may be.
You can find Amy at her website Amaranthyne Weddings and Events.
