Jenna and Joseph’s West Mill Wedding was fun, quirky and absolutely brilliant!
Jenna and Joseph got married last autumn at the spectacular West Mill Wedding Venue, which is a quirky converted cotton mill in Darley Abbey, Derby. They had their ceremony at the same venue as the reception, which was great, because having everything in one venue meant more time for mingling. They chose The West Mill, because it has so many options and it has so many unique features, split over four floors. It was a personalised, unique wedding, which featured so many beautiful details, and really reflected Jenna and Joseph, and their lives. I love shooting weddings at The West Mill, because the light is so gorgeous and the building is completely stunning. It really is a special, one-off wedding venue.
Jenna and Joseph both got ready at home with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. The wedding party then travelled through the city to the ceremony. Once at the mill, the girls headed to the stunning bridal prep room, to finish getting dressed.
The serious part
The wedding itself was a lovely ceremony on the fourth floor of the West Mill, which has a really cool tarnished metal ceiling. During the ceremony, Jenna just about made it through her vows! It was a real tear-jerker.
After the ceremony
The reception was downstairs and they had photos in the beautiful grounds by the river in the afternoon, and a live band in the evening. They decorated the venue with books and Lego, because they’re the couple’s favourite things. I spotted a copy of The Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy, and was tempted to sit down and have a read! Jenna also made hundreds of origami flowers, which they used to decorate the venue and even to make her own bouquet!
Jenna wore a backless Ronald Joyce gown and Joseph wore Ted Baker jacket paired with a racing green waistcoat and they looked so perfect.
Jenna and Joseph’s wedding was everything I love about weddings and so much fun. Here’s their awesome wedding!
