ELEGANT. TIMELESS. ROMANTIC
Wedding Photographers Derby & Nottingham – Jon Cripwell
I love meeting happy couples, getting to know them, sharing in the most important day of their lives and then wowing them with incredible pictures that tell the story of their wedding day; capturing something of the magic that they can treasure and pass on to their children and grandchildren.
Getting to know my couples really well is at the heart of everything I do in my business. Scroll down to find out how I aim to offer the best possible service to every single couple I work with.
Photography that tells your story. Moment by moment.
So, now you’re here, what to do? Well, funnily enough, as a Derby wedding photographer I’ve been to quite a few weddings in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and I really enjoy sharing the highlights from the big day – so if you’d like to see a bit more of my wedding photography then feel free to check out my wedding photography blog. It’s packed full of fantastic weddings, plus some of my own ramblings, and a few tips and tricks that I’ve picked up along the way which might be useful for you when you’re planning your own wedding.
If you’d like to see my wedding photography portfolio, then grab a coffee, kick back and check out my wedding gallery. While you’re at it, why not take a look at my engagement and pre-wedding shoot portfolio. What’s a pre-wedding shoot, I hear you ask? It turns out that, despite them all being 100% gorgeous people and incredibly lovely, a lot of my clients told me when I first met them that they didn’t like being in front of the camera. Right, I thought, I’ll show them that actually, having your photo taken by a professional photographer like me can be fun, relaxed and easy! So, I decided to offer every single client a complementary pre-wedding shoot. These shoots are now an important part of my couples’ wedding photography experience, and they really do help to calm any pre-big-day nerves. If you’d like to know more about them, then read on here: Pre-Wedding Photoshoots.

Full Day Coverage
Telling the story of your whole day
Your wedding day is just that – a whole day. Therefore your photographs should tell the story of your whole wedding, from those early morning preparations through to Uncle Dave dancing with his tie round his head, Rambo-style, at the end of the evening.
All my packages include full coverage of your big day, meaning that you’ll have the complete story of your wedding to look back on, and since there will be two of us, we can capture both sides of the wedding day morning story!
In the morning I’ll photograph THE dress, any accessories that you have chosen, and the general chaos and special moments that happen before you leave to get married. Having two photographers is really useful during the wedding ceremony too, as it means we can tell the story from multiple angles without having to run around the venue and potentially distract your guests from the important stuff happening up front! Then, from confetti to speeches and through to dancing, we’ll ensure that we don’t miss a thing.
Digital images are included in every package
We live in a digital world. You may want to share your wedding photos with your friends and family through email, Facebook and Instagram. I make the process very straight forward. Every collection comes with edited high-resolution digital images uploaded to an easy-to-use online gallery. You will also have the right to print and share the images however you wish.
You will also receive your high resolution photographs on a customised USB stick in a beautiful presentation case, and of course there is always the option of choosing one of a range of stunning hand crafted albums.
Capturing moments that you’ll treasure
Wedding days are often emotional. Tears and laughter are the ingredients of a day to cherish. My job is to capture those emotional moments to help you remember them forever. My style of photography is largely reportage, or photo-journalistic, which means that I photograph the day as it unfolds without trying to influence it too much. Having said that, I’m not some sort of photo-ninja either, hiding in the shadows. I like to be a part of the day, talking to people and helping out whenever I can. But I’m always looking out for the next shot that will continue the story of the wedding, and preserve a perfect moment forever.
