WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
As a wedding photographer who covers Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield and, frankly, all over the UK I’ve had the pleasure of working at some fantastic wedding venues with some amazing couples! My style combines elements of reportage or photo-journalism, fine art and fashion photography.
Many of my shots are reportage style – I tell the story of your wedding day through my photography, from the early morning bridal preparations, right the way through the wedding ceremony, the wedding reception and the first dance. These candid shots are often taken with a long lens, meaning that your guests are often not even aware that we’re photographing them. I love reportage style wedding photography because it can capture all sorts of spontaneous, genuine moments – and the emotions that accompany those moments.
When it comes to the bride and groom portraits however, I need to mix things up a little bit in order to create the photographs that you’ll treasure forever. This is where some more posing on your part comes in. However, I still like to keep things relaxed, spontaneous and natural – I don’t spend hours setting up one shot and ask you to stand in an awkward position for ages! What I do try to do is to make the most of the beautiful locations that your choice of wedding venue will no doubt offer, and create some dramatic, romantic and downright beautiful photographs! The kind of photographs that you are going to want to hang on your wall and show off to the whole wide world!

How many professional photos do you have of you as a couple? I know that Anna and I didn’t have ANY before our wedding. An engagement shoot is a great opportunity for us to meet up, have some fun and get to know each other. You’ll begin to relax in front of the camera and get any awkwardness out of the way before the day itself, and you’ll receive some beautiful portraits of the two of you.

We know how important all the intricate pieces are that go into creating your perfect day. In the morning we’ll make sure that we photograph your dress or suit, shoes, flowers, and any special jewellery. During the day we’ll be constantly on the lookout for all your carefully selected objects so that we can make a beautiful record for you to look back on.

As well as telling the story of your day, you’ll also want photos that capture something of the magic of your first hours together as a married couple. 90% of our photographs are documentary-style images – but we also want you to have a selection of beautifully composed, professionally lit photographs that show off both you and the amazing venue you’ve chosen for your wedding day.

You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery within about three weeks of your wedding. At that time, we'll also send over details about preserving your images through prints and albums.
