When your friend from work takes you on a date to KFC on Valentine’s Day, you probably wouldn’t imagine that fifteen years later you’d be marrying them while your three daughters look on. Hannah certainly didn’t! But Rich clearly upped his game, and within a couple of years of that first date, Hannah already knew that he was the one that she would spend the rest of her life with. It just took a few more years to get round to making it official!
When I arrived at Hannah’s parents’ house on the morning of the wedding, preparations were all fully underway. With five bridesmaids and three flower-girls to get ready, it was full steam ahead, with two hair stylists from Blend (www.blendsalons.co.uk) working in one room, and makeup artist Ashleigh from Mali Raj Beauty (www.malirajbeautyroom.co.uk) in Little Eaton working in another. It was busy, but fun – especially with Hannah and Rich’s three daughters around! They were having an absolutely brilliant morning.
Hannah had chosen a beautiful dress from Kula Tsurdiu in Nottingham (http://www.kulatsurdiu.co.uk) and complemented it with a long veil that had been worn at her sister’s wedding too.
The ceremony and reception were held at the Amalfi White Ballroom (www.amalfiwhite.com), a gorgeous venue in Melbourne, Derbyshire, which looked even more stunning thanks to some clever styling by Style Boxe (www.styleboxe.com).
The ceremony went without a hitch, and we made the most of some beautiful weather to head out into the gardens for confetti and photos. When we returned to the ballroom, it had been transformed into a gorgeous reception room, with some of the most beautiful and carefully designed table decorations that I’ve ever seen. The cake had arrived too: a semi-naked drip cake crafted by the super-talented Eclat Bakery (www.eclatbakery.co.uk), which fitted the styling of the day perfectly.
After a delicious dinner, the speeches were suitably tear and laughter inducing, with an impromptu further speech by one of Hannah and Rich’s daughters! Before we knew it, the evening guests were arriving and the First Dance was beckoning.
It was an absolute pleasure to have captured Hannah and Richard’s beautiful wedding day, and to have been made so welcome by their wonderful family and friends. Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Dukes!
