Engagement Shoots in Derby: The Parks

Here’s the second article in my series looking at the best places in Derby to have your pre-wedding photo shoot. If you missed the first installment then you can find it here: Derby Engagement Shoots at Elvaston Castle.

A great engagement shoot location is made up of lots of individual and contrasting spots. It’s even better if the place has a connection to you as a couple; so it’s not surprising that a number of my clients have chosen to have their pre-wedding shoots in Allestree and Darley parks.

Allestree Park

Esther and Rob and Kate and Jon had all grown up around or otherwise had a special connection to Allestree Park. Jon even proposed to Kate there! It makes a great location for a photoshoot, if the weather is good. There’s a lovely walk through some woodland, a golf course, an old house, lots of wide open space and a gorgeous lake complete with some little jetties.

More recently Kate and Jon decided to have their pre-wedding shoot at Allestree Park, as it was a place special to both of them, and would continue to be forevermore after Jon proposed to Kate from the bench overlooking the golf course! Here’s a few from their Allestree Park Engagement Shoot:

Darley Park

I’ve done quite a few engagement shoots in Darley Park too. It’s another beautiful location, with a wildflower meadow, a meandering river, a brightly painted cricket pavilion and a playground in case you feel the need to revisit your childhood!

Over the years I’ve done Darley Park pre-wedding shoots for Kate and Dave, Jess and Tom, Jo, Matt and their son Finley and we also filmed my promo video there! Here are a selection of my favourite photos from those shoots…
