Helena and Anthony’s winter wedding at Donington Park Farmhouse was packed full of love and golden details!

I love hearing how couples met for the first time: each story is unique to them, and I’m always fascinated by the quirks of fate that can completely change the path of someone’s life from that moment on. I, for instance, happened to meet Anna at a Derbyshire pub one Sunday evening. A group of us used to meet each Sunday, and that weekend Anna happened to be staying at a mutual friend’s house and she brought her along. It’s strange to think that, if I had decided to stay at home that week, or Anna had decided that she needed to leave to get home for work, then we may never have met. I wouldn’t be sat here typing this with two beautiful daughters tucked up and fast asleep upstairs. Chance meetings can define our lives.

Helena and Anthony know this as well as anyone. They met on holiday, and a whirlwind romance led to two gorgeous sons and a beautiful wedding at Donington Park Farmhouse.

Helena is super-talented, as you’ll see from the photos below. Virtually all of the venue decor was created by her, from the hand-written signage to the place settings, Helena created or sourced it all. She enjoyed it so much that she’s now turned it into a business, selling beautiful hand-painted and crafted items – you can see some of the amazing designs for yourself over on her IG feed: Tayler & Hugo.
