I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Anna and Andrew’s Norwood Park wedding, which was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. I asked the newly-wed and very happy couple for their top wedding planning tips, and they were happy to oblige!

A Relaxed and Sausage-Sandwich filled Start

The day began at Anna and Andrew’s house, where Anna and her bridesmaids were getting ready for their Norwood Park wedding. The atmosphere was relaxed, with everyone enjoying a sausage sandwich in between hair and makeup sessions! I was lucky enough to have had photographed both Anna’s bridesmaids’ weddings, and it was lovely to see Katy and Becky again.

The Ceremony: St Teresa of Lisieux Catholic Church

Anna and her dad travelled to the ceremony in a vintage soft-top VW Beetle, arriving at St Teresa of Lisieux Catholic Church in Aspley where Father Ka Fai conducted the service. Anna described walking down the aisle, saying, “I felt overwhelmed when I stood in the porch of the church, seeing all the people and hearing my brother-in-law playing Pachelbel’s Canon on the organ. Once I started walking down the aisle and I saw Andrew, I just felt so happy. It was a really special moment!”

Rain Showers and Rainbows: The Reception at Norwood Park

After the ceremony, guests managed to throw confetti in the church garden before a short rain shower sent everyone scrambling for their cars. The wedding reception took place at the elegant Norwood Park in Southwell, where I had the opportunity to capture some stunning Norwood Park wedding photography. Later in the day, a rainbow formed after another rain shower, creating a magical backdrop for photographs. As a sweet nod to their past, Anna and Andrew had an ice cream van at the reception. Anna used to work in a café serving ice creams, so she got in and served Andrew with an ice cream – a fairly unique moment at a Norwood Park wedding!

Anna & Andrew’s Wedding Planning Tips

When asked for advice on planning their own wedding at Norwood Park, Anna and Andrew had this to say: Be true to who you are as a couple. If there’s something you want or don’t want on your special day, make that decision and stick with it. Plan together as a team, making every decision jointly. Choose wedding suppliers that resonate with your style and personality.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Anna and Andrew were thrilled with their Norwood Park wedding photos.
