Osmaston Park Wedding: Emily & Dale’s Fairy-Tale Day

Osmaston Park wedding photographer Jon Cripwell

Preparations at Emily’s Mum’s House

The sun was shining brightly on this beautiful summer day for Emily and Dale’s Osmaston Park wedding when we arrived at Emily’s Mum’s house at 10:30 am. The bridal party – Jessica, Lyndsey, Amy, Julia, Lisa, and Rachel – were all present and ready to help make the morning feel special for the bride, Emily.

As I photographed the final stages of hair and makeup by Amazing Grace Hair and Makeup, I was struck by the warm atmosphere and the smiles and laughter, plus a sprinkling of nervous anticipation. Emily’s stunning dress by Blue by Enzoani from Charlotte Baker Bridal looked incredible. Before we knew it, the girls were enjoying a final toast in their matching robes, before dresses were donned and the journey to church was underway!

The Groom’s Morning at Emily and Dale’s House

Meanwhile, Dale was getting ready at their home, joined by his groomsmen, Ryan P and Ryan H. Dale made life easier by only having to remember one name for his groomsmen: Ryan! Dale looked dapper in his suit from Brigdens as he enjoyed a fairly relaxed morning, filled with smiles and laughter.

The Ceremony at All Saints’ Rangemore Church

Blue skies greeted Emily and Dale as they arrived at All Saints’ Rangemore Church for their 12:30 pm ceremony. I captured the couple’s vows, the emotions that filled the room, and their first kiss as husband and wife. After the ceremony, the newlyweds were showered with confetti outside the church, marking the beginning of their journey together.

Osmaston Park Wedding Venue: A Fairy-tale Setting

Osmaston Park Wedding Venue, with its breathtaking grounds and stunning views, provided the perfect location for an unforgettable wedding. The fairy-tale setting was the ideal backdrop for capturing the love between Emily and Dale on their special day. Whenever I’m lucky enough to work there, I’m always struck by the stunning views over the lake and woodland. It’s hard to believe it’s just ten minutes down the road from Derby!

Drinks, Canapés, and Magical Entertainment

Upon arrival at the reception around 2:30 pm, guests were treated to drinks, canapés, and some mind-blowing tricks from magician Will Gray, who entertained everyone – including us! – during this time. Beautiful floral arrangements by Nadia Di Tullio adorned the venue, further enhancing the enchanting atmosphere.

The Wedding Breakfast at Osmaston Park

The wedding breakfast, served by Uppercrust Caterers, was a delightful affair. In my opinion, having the speeches after the main course and before dessert was a great choice – guests were full and relaxed, able to sit and listen without being eager to move on to the next part of the day. The impressive cake made by Dale’s Aunty Sarah was a standout feature, and I couldn’t wait to capture the cutting later on.

Evening Celebrations and Dancing

As evening guests arrived at 7:30 pm, the celebrations continued with the cake cutting and first dance at 8:00 pm. The evening entertainment included a DJ from Bliss DJs and a Magic Mirror from Star Eventz, while a delicious hog roast by Paul Sargeant awaited guests outside. Honestly, I can’t recommend a hog roast highly enough! I might start offering discounts for couples who have one – ha!

Capturing the Essence of Emily & Dale’s Love

Throughout the day, I focused on highlighting the couple’s unique personalities and connection. The atmosphere of joy and love was palpable, and I was honoured to capture memorable moments that told the story of Emily and Dale’s love.
