Planning a wedding should be a fun, exciting and happy experience. However, the pressure of organising such a huge and important event can leave some brides and grooms feeling stressed and apprehensive. Hopefully this won’t be the case for you, but if you ever need a hand it’s comforting to know that the experts are waiting in the wings to take the strain!Today we have an interview with one of the best in the business – the very talented Leah from the aptly named Your Wedding Angel! Leah has helped hundreds of couples plan their perfect day both here in the UK and over in sun-soaked Ibiza.
Hi Leah! Let’s start with the story behind Your Wedding Angel. How did it begin?
I have always had a real passion for planning events, and I simply LOVE weddings! When it came to planning my own in Ibiza I loved it so much that I decided that this was something I wanted to do again. And again. And again!
I had a job in Sales and Marketing at the time, so started up YWA on the side, after a few months I was only working my day job part time, and before I knew it I was wedding planning full time in the UK and Ibiza.
What services do you offer?
I offer a completely bespoke service to my couples, tailored to them down to the very last detail.
Some may just want me on the day to coordinate , some want me just to style the venue and others to do everything from planning, sourcing suppliers, make sure the groom gets to the church in time. (We can help with the latter too!)
What’s 2014 looking like for YWA? Do you have more weddings in Ibiza or the UK this year?
Its our busiest yet!!
I have 100+ Ibiza weddings that I am either full planning or part planning. I work closely with a venue called Elixir Shore Club in Ibiza and that is where a lot of my work is this year. It’s an exclusive beach fronted venue on the west of the island; an idyllic location for a wedding!
My UK weddings are also going from strength to strength and I have a lovely team based in Derby that I work with. I really enjoy my UK weddings!
Vintage, shabby-chic etc. have been popular for the last few years. Do you see that continuing? If not, what do you think the next popular style will be?
Vintage shabby chic is still here to stay for another season! It is a lovely style and is so diverse that it can find a place in nearly everybody’s wedding.
I am also starting to see more of the glamour effect in the upcoming weddings which is so enjoyable to plan for. Every girl loves a bit of bling! And on the flip side boho weddings are also popular.
My ideal clients are couples that are so in LOVE that you can tell just by looking at them! There is nothing better than planning for people that are blissfully happy, and then to see them finally walk down the aisle can be quite emotional!
And finally… tell us about your wedding!
My husband proposed to me in Dominican Republic on Christmas eve on a cliff top. It was very romantic. We were married at Hotel Cantalaias in San Carlos Ibiza. A very rustic hippy venue. We had 60 of our closest friends and family and the day was amazing.
Thanks Leah!
