[dropcap]O[/dropcap]ne of the best things about being a wedding photographer is that I get to see some really cool ideas at people’s weddings. Most couples put a huuuge amount of thought and effort into their big day (Anna certainly did with ours, I saw her!) and I get to see the results. It’s a cliché but it’s true – every wedding is different and it’s the details that separate them.
The cake is usually a great reflection of the couple. What style have they gone for? There are some incredibly talented cake designers out there, and I’m often astounded by the level of intricate detail that they can work at. But every now and then a couple decide to have a different kind of cake. Certainly Gareth and Roshni did. At their Mythe Barn wedding last summer they opted for something a little bit different. A tiered cake of donuts!
There was a selection of different types of donut, and many of the glazed ring donuts had the bride and groom’s names iced on to them. Bonus points are available if anyone can tell me what the phrase that forms the ‘cake topper’ is related to…
